No. If you are young and healthy, and there has been no complication during pregnancy, you can deliver normally
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is a procedure performed in the IVF laboratory. When the quality of the semen is poor; the count is low, or the motility is low, or there are very few normal looking sperms, the chances of the sperm naturally fertilizing the egg are reduced. In such cases, the embryologist finds a normal looking sperm and injects the sperm into the egg. The procedure is performed under microscopic guidance. This significantly improves the fertilization rate and chance of a successful pregnancy and live birth.
Not all fibroids interfere with fertility. Decision for surgery depends on the size and location of the fibroid. If the broid is located in the cavity of the uterus (called submucous fibroids), they need to be removed irrespective of the size, as they may may interfere with implantation of the embryo. Fibroids outside the cavity (intramural and subserous) need to be removed only if they are large or distorting the cavity.
Both the quantity and quality of eggs declines with female age. The pregnancy rates drop and the miscarriage rates increase with advancing age. So, the number of eggs you need to freeze to have a realistic chance of having a baby increase with age. If you are age 35, the chance of having a baby is 80% if 14 eggs are frozen, and 95% if you freeze 30 eggs. You may need more than one IVF cycles to obtain the desired number of eggs.
