    Frozen embryo transfer

FET uses embryos (fertilized eggs) that have been frozen

What is Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)?

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) is a process in which embryos that were previously frozen through embryo cryopreservation are thawed and transferred into the uterus. This technique is part of assisted reproductive technology (ART) and provides a chance to achieve pregnancy using embryos that were preserved during earlier IVF cycles. FET offers a valuable option for those who have surplus embryos from previous treatments or who wish to delay their pregnancy while preserving their embryos for future use.

    When FET is Required?

FET is commonly utilized in several situations. For couples who have undergone IVF and have remaining embryos after a successful fertilization cycle, FET allows for the use of these embryos in subsequent attempts, without the need for additional ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval. This can significantly enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of fertility treatments. Additionally, FET is an option for individuals or couples who may have postponed their pregnancy due to personal, professional, or medical reasons. By freezing embryos at a time when fertility is optimal, you can preserve the chance for pregnancy at a later date when you are ready to proceed.

    The FET Process

At Kamna Fertility, the Frozen Embryo Transfer process is carefully managed to ensure the best possible outcome. The process begins with the preparation of the uterus to receive the thawed embryos. This involves hormonal treatments to optimize the uterine lining for implantation. Once the uterine lining is adequately prepared, the previously frozen embryos are thawed and evaluated for their viability. The selected embryos are then transferred into the uterus through a simple procedure that typically does not require anesthesia. This procedure is performed with precision to maximize the chances of successful implantation and pregnancy.
